Trivia: Alfred High school is also known as Mohandas Gandhi school. The school is considered one of the oldest school in the country established in the year 1885.
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi graduated from this school at the age of 18.
After Independence in 1947, the school renamed to Mohandas Gandhi school.
In the year 2017, school was shut down and was later converted into a museum of Mahatma Gandhi. The museum got inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India. Shri Narendra Modi.
